While walking to the train with Amalie Bruun after a rooftop BBQ in Brooklyn (hosted by a vegetarian who had never used a grill, mind you), someone asked her to sing one of her songs. "I'll do a cover!" Amalie declared and just like that, we were treated to a surprisingly spot on rendition of Mariah Carey's "Vision of Love."
Amalie has surprised me yet again with the Vettenetter remix of her current single, "Siren." Sometimes, a remix can butcher a perfectly good song, which "Siren" is, but this is a brilliant Electropop reworking. It takes her vocals and spreads them across a sexy track with the always welcomed gasp of breath used to create an additional layer. Listen below! No, it doesn't feel like 7 minutes and yes, that is a good thing.
