Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2013

The big theme for the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2013 collection was shine bright, shine hard. Things were kicked off with a trench complete with a slice of aqua blue for its collar. This was followed up with a barrage of metallics that had me like “Oh, my gosh. I’m not in love” sorta like that Usher song.

I know a lot of elements bleed over between the menswear and women’s wear shows so I’m sure we’ll see metallic for the ladies. In my head, I see this actually working. Just not so much for the guys. However, the majority of what my eyes landed on were pleasing which made this collection a success in my opinion.

Besides metallic situations, the other strong theme was graphic prints and that, my friends, is what pulled it all together for me. The diamonds full of lines, the subtle cross hatching? Holler back. I’d wear these in a heartbeat and I’m not even kidding!

The color selection for these pieces was great because it allowed Christopher Bailey to go a bit wild with the actual prints but still able to churn out wearable garments. If you look at some of these thinking “Who would wear that?” I’ll tell you who. Some awesome dude who isn’t concerned with what you think about what he’s wearing.

I’d also like to call attention to Charlie France.

He’s a British model with a strong mouth and I can feel a moment for him is on the horizon. How do I know? I can’t explain but I know that I’m 94% right. Just you wait! Charlie France is gonna blow up and, once again, you’ll all be clicking back here saying “By golly jolly! He was right!!”

PS: does all of the metallic remind anyone of the cummerbunds you see at prom? Oh, C-Bailey. You slay me!
